NORWOOD — The Norwood Model Railroad Club has set up a display of model trains at the Massena Public Library.
The display includes a variety of trains from a number of gauges including N-gauge (the smallest on display), HO,O-gauge (including American Flyer), and S-gauge (the gauge of Lionel). Scale buildings are also included.
The Club will be hosting the Annual Model Train, Toy, and Collectible Expo at the Massena Arena this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21 and Sept. 22 where all these gauges and more will be operating on a number of layouts. The show will also include examples of z-gauge layouts, the smallest gauge, with layouts that can fit in a guitar or suitcase. Club member Kenny Friedel will be offering train rides, weather permitting, on his outdoor, larger-scale railroad.
In addition to the Expo, the club attends several shows a year, hosts open houses at member homes to check out layouts and collections, sponsors seasonal layouts at various institutions, and offers assistance to people interested in the family-friendly hobby.
