CANTON – The Unitarian Universalist Church in Canton serving the North Country community is hosting a mindfulness meditation workshop on Saturday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m.–noon. The two-hour workshop will introduce the spiritual practices of meditation in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh and the concepts of meditation and mindfulness and address the positive impacts of mindfulness including emotion regulation, stress response, memory, learning, and perspective-taking. Participants will learn breathing, walking, and eating meditation. Throughout the practice, questions will be addressed and experiences shared. No prior meditation experience is needed, and there will not be a need to sit on the floor. Participants should dress in comfortable clothes and bring a notebook.
